Love In Paradise – Part 20

Wine Of Uncertainty

The holidays were finally over. The food, the family, the decorations, they were all gone. It was time to take on the New Year and set some resolutions and goals. Sasha sat in deep thought with her notepad in one hand and her pen in the other. Something about not knowing what the New Year would bring made Sasha nervous.
She was tired of the bad luck. She had gone through so much in the past couple of years she was desperate for a break through. Her life seemed to have turned around after meeting Abe. He was so great with her daughter and helped out a lot, but she figured it was time to be more and live out her true potential.

Love InAs she sat on the sofa staring at the TV, she started to really think about her life and her New Year’s resolutions. She knew she wanted to get back in great shape but most of all she wanted to be able to start a brand new family with Abe and become his wife.

“Hey babe, what are you watching?” Abe said as he sat down beside her.

“I’m working on my New Year resolutions,” she said proudly as she showed him her paper with her list of resolutions.

Smiling as he browsed through her list, “I like it. You have a big year ahead of you I see,” he added.
“Yep and I am glad I get to share it with you,” She said leaning over to kiss him on the lips. She noticed a change in his facial expression as her lips left his cheek. She hadn’t been with him too long, but she could definitely tell if something was bothering him. “What’s wrong babe?” she asked, gently rubbing his back.

“I have something I wanted to talk to you about, “ he said.

She could tell bad news was around the corner, so she gripped her cushion and braced herself for the news that was about to follow. As he began to explain, his worried face turned into shock and then finally ended with a few tears falling from her eyes.

Abe got an amazing opportunity in Dubai to work with a multinational organization. He was happy and excited, and he definitely couldn’t hide it. It would mean he would make triple the amount he made in the past year, but it also meant him leaving England for an entire year.

Sasha was happy for him; she really was, but the relationship was still pretty new and she just worried that the sudden distance would put a strain on the relationship. Not sure how to react, she pat him on the back and said, “Congratulations baby.”

He could tell she was upset, but it was just too much of an amazing opportunity for him to give up.

The next couple of days were quiet. Sasha hardly spoke. She tried almost everything she could to avoid thinking about her new reality, but she could not. Every time she thought about it, she would burst into tears. What was she going to do?
